Green Goddess Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 large green apple

1 kiwi fruit

10 green grapes or a slice of pineapple

1/2 a lime - including zest, chopped

a thumbnail piece of ginger, peeled

a thumbnail piece of fresh turmeric, peeled (or 1/2 tsp dried turmeric powder)

1 handful of baby spinach or kale

a few pieces of ice (optional)


(additions: 1/2 banana, 1/2 ripe avocado, spirulina powder, maca or protein powder etc)

Method Chop up all of the ingredients and place in a blender, adding additional cold water to achieve desired consistency. This should take around 30 seconds in a high speed blender or Nutri-Bullet. Feel free to tweak the recipe e to suit your tastes and the contents of your fruit bowl! Frozen fruit also works really well.

This is a deeply refreshing and hydrating drink for any time of the day - as perfect for an afternoon pick-me-up as it is for part of nutritious breakfast.
