There are many variations on the 'energy ball' or 'raw bliss balls' that have been around for a long time, but these not only feel a little indulgent, but are also packed full of clever ingredients to balance your blood sugar, provide brain fats AND help balance your hormones. This recipe makes about 16 balls, which keep for about a week in the fridge.
Ingredients:
120g of mixed seeds - sunflower, pumpkin, chia, flax or sesame
150g almonds and walnuts, roughly smashed
The zest and juice of half and orange
60g of dried cranberries
100g of soft dates
1 tsp each of Maca & Raw Cacao Powder
1/2 a tsp of cinnamon powder
1 spoof of desiccated coconut to roll the balls in at the end.
Method:
Mix the seeds, dates, cranberries, powders, orange zest and juice in a high speed blender and whizz to a sticky pulp
Tip out into a bowl and then add the nuts. The mixture should be sticky but manageable.
Mix to combine, then make walnut sized pieces and set them out on a cold plate.
Sprinkle the coconut over the top and then refrigerate.
Enjoy!
